PDSP Training – Safe Client Handling Principles
The PDSP training aims to develop the essential skills needed to safely move, reposition, and assist clients while preventing injuries for both the caregiver and the person being helped.
Over the course of two full days, participants will learn to apply ergonomic and safety principles for client transfers in various settings — including healthcare facilities, home care, and residential environments.
Course Content

Understand the principles of biomechanics and injury prevention

Assess the client’s ability to participate in transfers

Properly use assistive devices (belts, slide sheets, lifts, etc.)

Adapt transfer techniques to different situations and environments

Hands-on practice and real-life simulations
Target Audience
This training is designed for personal support workers, caregivers, special educators, home care attendants, and anyone working with clients who have reduced mobility.
Certification
At the end of the two-day training, participants receive an official certificate recognizing their skills in safe client handling and transfer techniques.
